Workshop
Overview
There is a tremendous need for churches to educate and assist
people with managing their resources in God-honoring ways.
And that’s what the Good $ense Counselor Training Workshop
trains volunteers to do—provide free, biblically-based, confidential
budget counseling to individuals and families.
Workshop
participants receive extensive training in key areas, including
the five stages of the counseling process, biblical financial
principles, interpersonal skills, and the foundations of the
Good $ense Ministry. Participants learn how to:
- Prepare for and conduct the first client meeting
- Develop listening skills that build a strong relationship
with the client
- Help a client establish a balanced budget and debt reduction
plan
- Provide wise counsel by applying biblical financial principles
- Help a client develop solid financial practices for a
lifetime of good stewardship, and more.
When well trained
Good $ense counselors use their God-given talents and abilities,
the local church can become a place where lives are transformed
as individuals and families experience reduced anxiety, relational
restoration, and the joy of financial freedom. |
